Phat? No Doubt

Post by ColorForm2113 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:23 am

So last night my girlfriend and I went to see No Doubt and I was suprised to tony kanal the bass player/keyboardist bring out a little phatty for a few songs. And a custom one at that completely white washed! Except for the black keys and the amber back light buttons and knobs

Cool! A lot of bands are starting to adopt this highly underrated synth. Of course, compared to the Voyager anything can be underrated. Great sighting! :D

I went to their concert last Monday and noticed it too, just forgot to post it. I was surprised he used it so much; probably on 6 to 8 songs. Well I guess I'm not surprised since the LP is so awesome!

was it just me or was he only using the arpeggiator? That's what kinda surprised me because he usely rocks a keytar live, not just dancing there holding down one or two keys :?

The arp is a useful performance tool. Latch a couple notes, and dance. Throw in a ribbon controller going to the filter IN for effect. IMHO, the fact that the LP was used at all deserves mad props. Some bands get an endorsement, have an instrument on stage, and use an entirely different instrument for their music.
