looping midi sub 37

I have a system set up for a while with ultranova tr8 ms20 and volca's with no problems. Just got the sub 37.

Have ableton live 9 suite with the push and have created an external instrument. I am using a midisport 4x4 but with only the sub 37 plugged in on the in and out of B.

when I play a note on the push the sub 37 plays its note fine, however when I play a note on the sub 37 with its keyboard the note sounds twice.

am on a simple patch bnk 2 preset 9 with arp off.

not sure what setting is causing this, it never happened before however I never had a synth as good as this before. help would be appreciated to guide me in the right direction.

at some stage i might need midi out connected to record an arp pattern or whatever i play so removing the midi out cable wasnt an option and setting midi setting keys off stops it too but then i cannot record anything i play on the sub.

I have to add that if i use usb midi that the problem doesnt happen having of course unplugged the midi din.
