Hi there,
The keyboard works on Ableton Live 9 as Midi keyboard without any issue (I can for example control Massive Virtual Instruments using the Moog keyboard).
However I cannot map any of the Sub 37 knobs as MIDI controllers. In other words, I cannot assign any knob on Live 9 to a knob on the Sub 37.. To my understanding, this should not happen since the knobs (& not just the keyboard) are allegedly MIDI..
Am I missing something?
Thanks
Louis

Hi Louis
I have just run 'MIDI Loupe' to monitor my Sub 37 and I certainly get MIDI messages sent for a number of the front panel rotary controls.
Rotating Filter Cutoff then Volume knobs

As far as I can see though… and people way more knowledgeable of Ableton will confirm this it is all to do with MIDI mapping.. I think

Re: Sub 37 - Are the knobs really MIDI?
Thanks Rufus for the feedback.
Hmm.. Not sure why it is not working for me then. Taking a step back on what I am trying to do: i plug the sub 37 to my Imac (via usb to imac and via regular cable from 'Audio In' to my fireface 800 interface). Then i use the sub 37 to play Native Instrument reaktor's rhodes vst on live 9). I can play the rhodes via the sub 37 just fine. However, when I click on live9's midi mapping feature (top right on the live 9 screen) and when i try to assign, say, the volume of track 1, turning any knob on the sub 37 does not result in any change in the volume on live 9. Also, As fyi, this is not my first time doing midi mapping on live..
Not sure what to do...

Re: Sub 37 - Are the knobs really MIDI?
Its been a while since I used Live, but I'm pretty sure you have to specifically enable your midi device (the sub37) as a "Remote" in the Live midi preferences first.
From the manual:
"...go to the MIDI/Sync tab in Preferences. This time, enable “Remote” for your controller’s input port."

Thanks Jazzmasta. That did the trick!
