Hi moogers, I'm really happy to share this with you.
This is my new bend called Litošt. We are just in the middle of the mix of first album and this
video represent a master take of one of the songs. I'm playing only Slim Phatty Bass sound, and
I noticed that there is a lots of discussion on this topic. So I decided to post it here and
let me know what you think.
BTW, This is not a mixed track. Bass is to bassy!
And I need to put Casio more in front. And so on...
Enjoy!

Three things come to mind...

1) when you get your stuff on wax, please post here so I can buy a copy
2) Love that CZ-101; it was my first keyboard when given to me by my friend's dad who worked NAMM shows for Casio. Been kicking myself for selling that, you just made it worse : )
3) Great grove. I was sitting here rocking in my seat after the music stopped, wishing that it would come back. You guys have a great sound keep it up.

Thanx guys!
Sice this track is Live it is most boring of all of them, some kind of a jam...
Other songs are more complex and much deeper in sound.
We did some overdubs as well. But I try to stay away from playback tracks or however you call it.
I need more synths! :D Something polyfonic, maybe a DSI Tetra, and for this job I would love to
have Minitaur! And since we can run some MIDI LFOs and MIDI effects from Live I need something like a launchpad or Akai MPC40.
We have also circuit bend stuff (Kawai R-100, Roland TR-505 and Casio MT-600) which can be sequenced from Live.

I do agree that Casio CZ brings something special to the sound. I love the combination Moog/Casio.
So one thing to mention is that we are really new to this kind of music. We all play mostly Modern Jazz/Free Jazz/Noise/Experimental/
EU Improvised Music for living, but this is pure fun!

I will post link for soundcloud here when we finish the album, so you can get whole picture.
But I'm doing this all alone, and this is first time for me to produce the record. It's FUN! :D

It is basically Tetra with keyboard, but I would prefer just a module and one of the more advanced controllers. Maybe the Akai Max 49 or Novation. I use Akai MPK 25 for Slim Phatty and I can control all parameters from it. I'm really satisfied with it. The feel of the keyboard and the knobs is excellent! I also use MP-201 for foot control and for some time synced LFOs for foogers.
One thing I'm really digging is Aftertuch from MPK. SInce there is nothing to control on Slim with aftertuch I assign that to my trusty Ensoniq DP/4 parallel effect processor. So I can ad some delay/reverb/modulation when I want with just the aftertuch or MP-201.
For me it is all about the setup!

Cool set-up indeed!

I wish my boards have aftertouch too: nor the Phatty neither the Nord Lead 2X have it. It's a real shame since, unlike you, I prefer the idea of a complete instrument rather than a good module played with a good controller.

BTW the MophoX4 is monotimbral, unlike the Tetra. I'm studying the question because the Prophet 08 has often tempted me...

Hey folks,

We just recorded little live video, where you can listen to Slim Phatty in action as Bass synth.
There is also MF-104z, MF-102, Arturia Minibrute, Casio CZ-101 and Korg Poly 800.
This is a song from our album (free download here: http://litoxt.bandcamp.com/ ) played live.
Video is nothing special... Bunch of our friends filmed us during the performance, but they just don't understand what improvisation means, so they had hard time on synchronizing the material. But anyway...

One thing to mention... Phatty was recorded from Peavey Amp "DI" out. Don't make this mistake! It is not pristine signal, nor it is DI signal... It is to compressed and lots of bottom end was lost! But anyhow, it still represent a good bass synth for live shows.

Here you can watch it!

Enjoy!
