i'm a bit confused... i'm managing to do lots of fun things via midi like automating the filter cutoffs etc but i can't seem to find a way to select the currently active preset. did i miss something?
in my live set it would help me a lot not to have to worry about changing to the right preset at the right time but being able to automate it. i tried the performance sets feature on stage yesterday and it worked for me but was a little bit clumsy to operate.
select preset by MIDI?
Re: select preset by MIDI?
i managed to find a solution to my question. the trick is to send a midi program change message. in ableton with each midi clip you can select the program no. to play the clip with. the program number is the preset that will be selected automatically on the slim phatty.
i'm still a bit ignorant about some features of midi. probably obvious for most people.

Just a quick search, but there are lots of sites about the basics of MIDI. The basics of MIDI are simple but really handy to know

Don't forget to +1 on the program numbers though, as the LP/SP starts with preset 00.
