hey everyone (mf104m)
Hey people, I'm new to Moog and new to the forum. Just bought a mf104m and so far I'm totally in love. I am a guitar player and the fooger sounds great, especially on the long setting (the dark repeats are just gorgeous). I love just à touch of the triangle wave LFO as well. It really gives it a vintage character. I haven't had a chance to really crank it up yet... Ill be sure to check in when I do!

Welcome mate!!
This is one of my most often used settings as well: it ends in a delicious misty pad, even with synths

Re: hey everyone (mf104m)
I don't play guitar, but I do play clavinet, and discovered a cool setting. I use the 104z and cp-251, but the 104m can obviously do the same thing. I use a very slow S+H or smoothed S+H modulating delay time very slightly, with mix to full rich or close to full. I usually have to get a very bright clav sound because turning up the mix is like closing a low pass filter (like on an eq, not a synth). You get a "wow and flutter" sound like on a beat up tape delay that is extremely cool, but not so much that it changes the pitch dramatically. Mess with the delay time knob to get the perfect sound. Hitting sustaining chords is the best.

Thanks for reminding me to test that. And I'll test it with a Clavinet... sound, as I don't have a real one but a Nord. Some day...
I once tried to modulate the 104Z time by injecting a light triangle LFO into the CV input -I think this was the CP-251 LFO I had a hard time to obtain something really subtle; the fluctuations went from nothing to too much.
The 104M modulation seems more progressive, I don't know. I get really beautiful chorused delays out of it, which I seem not able to get with the Z.

Yeah that attenuator on the cp-251 is sensitive, especially the bipolar later one, and you can't center it very well, you have to do it by ear. Modulating delay time is a delicate art, as any deep modulation will just be chaotic in large amounts. Cool for sound effects, but difficult to use musically. I have been using the mp-201 as a midi to cv converter and "play" the delay time with a keyboard, which can be cool, but hard to control.
