No, not at all - mine work very well together. It was actually a big part of the reason why I got the vx351 - I use the XY pad to control other gear.
Is the vx351 connected to your voyager or not? If not, is the db25 cable connected to the voyager but not the vx351? If it is, have you tried remocing the cable? Have you tried switching presets? Turning the voyager on and off? Have you checked that the daughterboard inside the voyager is seated properly? Have you tried removing the daughterboard altogether (i.e. returning to a pre-installation state)?
Hopefully, one or other of those questions may resolve the issue...
