Why is LOCAL always OFF?

Post by scotteh » Sun May 29, 2016 10:05 am

Hi

I have a small but highly annoying problem. When I turn on my Voyager RME, the screen always says "ALL CONTROLLERS OFF". Why is that? I did not set it to do that on purpose and I really need them to be on so I can create sounds!

How can I set it so that LOCAL is ON every time I turn the Voyager on?

Thanks a lot!
Scott

That started with OS 3.4. I have 3.5 on my machine and I still see it. Very annoying.

Are you sure the system version is the same as the boot version?
BTW some sequencer programs send a Local OFF command after start, maybe that's the reson...

Hi all,
I added the LOCAL ON/OFF in the MIDI Enables MASTER menu (at the end before "All Enables").
Now you can switch off the MIDI in/out for the local on/off MIDI controller.
I hope this helps.
The files for the regular Voyager are here:

For the RME:

And for the XL:

In this thread you will find help for the installation of the files:

Have fun,
Rudi

I have my sequencer off when I turn my rig on. When my Voyager is powered on, it is often (not always) in local OFF mode. Seems to be a power on issue.

Answers: Yes, I was blaming Sonar for doing this but I just noticed that Local was off long before I started Sonar!

And yes the OS version was the same as the Boot version; 3.5

And yes I have now updated with the new version and they are both 3.6

And yes, IT WORKED!! Hurray!! Thanks so much! Also I see there are some other things new things in there. I didn't even know about 3.6 until now so this is interesting!

Oh, one last thing: This confused me the last time I did an update as well so I just thought I should mention it here in case others see this.

In step 3 of the instructions it says "in the MASTER menu go to "Receive Update" and send bank "A".", but what it doesn't mention is that it will then warn you that you are about to erase the flash memory. Very confusing because it sounds like you are about to erase what you just sent. But if anyone else sees this and is confused, you say YES, and all will be fine.

Thanks again!
Scott
