just bought used voyager need new osc pot

Post by djrezinfingerz » Tue Mar 03, 2015 3:19 am

high guys just bought a used electric blue moog voyager.
When Purchased, I knew it had a broken osc3 knob with a part of the tounge from the pot snap off with it aswell.
I am great with a soldering iron, what would be the best way for me to fix this...
Also I have a RME Blue that has the extra patches in (The V3.X HARDWARE upgrade)
Is it possible to take this out of the RME into the Keyboard version... Or would it be best for me to somehow get those patches and save them on my computer...? + any other mods worth doing.

Cheers

As far as replacing a pot, it will be involved since you have to remove all the knobs and nuts from everyone to the left of the display and touch pad, because they're all on the same PCB.

If you open the back of your Voyager, you'll see what I mean...

If I'm not mistaken, Moog used Alpha pots in Voyager. Should be easy to find and get an exacr replacement. You could even ask Moog Music support for one ?

But how the pot was damaged in the first place indicates that the previous owner didn't take good care of his instrument...

As for the patchs thing, sorry I can't help you there...

You will find all the patches (banks) for all versions of voyager on KnobTweak yahoo group, as well as many other usefull things...
You just have to join (free) to be able to download.
