thanks for all the inputs!

I just found a good deal on a Q rack and went for it. I was undecided between the virus and the Q, but decided to go with the waldorf. Everybody says great things about them so, and teh demos sound good. Not sure how it'll fit with the saturated tone of the voyager but I'll see how they fit. The virus on the other hand offered way more possibilities in terms of fx.

Should be here on friday!!

Let us know what you think of the Q and V'ger combo.

Congrats on scoring a Q. Waaldorf synths are killer.

Definately try the comb filters.

Use the Alt. waveforms in the oscillators and add some PWM.

I think you should be very happy with the 2.

One very cool feature in the Waldorf's is randomizing.
Music can Name the Unnamable and Communicate the Unknowable.

'I am... everything is... changed... they're calling... your face... interwoven... who is...' Patient mumbles inaudibly to a tune (sounds like 'Thanks for the memory).

Since i'me waiting on a fix for my Voyager V3.x hardware jam i've jumped back into programing my Q sounds.

I've compiled some sounds which are interesting and would like to share with other Q users (BTW, congratulations kcabdeef).

For all Q KB and Rack (not Q+) you can email me and i will send a sysex dump your way. Please be patient however!

[email protected] (please state in subject Qsounds)

Cheers,

I want a Nord Lead. What's the best model to go for and a low price?

Check out the Nord Lead 3. New is around $1800, but if you shop around on eBay you can grab a minty one for around $1100-$1400. They seem to hold their value well, that is if Clavia ever releases a Nord Lead 4

Yeah I might get one. I heard some amazing sounds come out of that unit.

Yea, it's really good. I love the pads on that thing. I'd get one myself but I've been looking at picking up a vocoder.

I heard some Gary Numan patches done on it (Vox Humana and the Mini/ARP Odyssey lead) and it did sound convincing to my ears. Shame my Polymoog's still not 100%.

the only VA we have is an MS2000.. Its great for what it is, but nothing complements the Voyager better than our Model D and MG1 ! :)

I can thoroughly recommend the Nord Lead 3.

That alongside my Voyager, a Korg Z1 and a Triton Extreme covers all the bases I want (especially when coupled with software in the studio).

Z1 also sounds nice in combination IMO. The analogue emulation isn't as good as more up-to-date machines, but the aliasing gives it it's own unique sound. It also supports more modelling types than your standard VA.

Korg's just released a new machine that looks like a souped-up MS2000 mixed with a bit of Z1 (technology taken from OASYS). That might be worth checking out...

I hate the nord lead3! You may like it though...who knows. I bought one when it first came out- original price was like 2100 or so. I could barely give it away, and sold for $1000. I lost a lot of money on that cheap +++ keyboard.

Care to tell us what you didn't like about it?

I could introduce you to a small army of musicians who'd disagree.

Boeing,

I'm sure I saw a Nord L1 on UK eBay yesterday at a steal of a BIN.

Worth a look.

I've got a N2 - find it a bit harsh though but still good.
