RME as binaural tone generator

Post by Sandrow » Mon Sep 01, 2014 9:14 am

Hello,

I'm making a little research about brain alpha waves and I'd like to use my RME as binaural tone generator for this purpose.

I need two oscillators, but each oscillator must be routed to a Full Left or Full Right output.
Seems as a very easy thing to do, but i can't found any clue diggin' into menus and each oscillator is even routed to both outputs (afaik).

i.e. i need:
OSC 1 destinated to Left output only
OSC 2 destinated to Right output only.

Can I achieve this some way?
Thanks.
:D

you can use the two Low Pass Filters with the resonance cranked up as stereo Sine wave oscillators, but you wont have as much control over the individual pitches. if you have a vx-351 you can route oscillator 3 and oscillator 1 or 2 (via the PGM Sources) to each of the mod busses and then have the raw unfiltered oscillators split out from there. but it will be a constant tone unless you route it back through either some modular gear or moogerfoogers.

or just get a second RME
My modular so far: Q104, Q106 x2, Q107, Q108, Q109 x2 , Q116, Q118, Q127 w/Q140, Q130, STG Wave Folder, Mixer and Mankato playing with Moog Voyager, VX-351, CP-251, MF-104M x2 ( STEREO!) Volca Beats and Bass, Arturia Beat step

All in the name of science of course.
