December Squarewave

Post by TeamSquareWave » Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:04 am

Holiday Greetings from the SquareWave Team!

Our popular site continues to grow daily, both in membership and content. Congratulations to Gingerca7, who became the 175th member of Squarewave on November 26th!

Also in November, new member Pierre Zeeman (AKA pierrezee) uploaded 37 excellent new Voyager patches along with performance notes on each (Excellent work! Thanks, Pierre!). That brings the total number of member-contributed patches to... well, take our word for it - it's a lot of patches!

Besides a ton of Voyager patches, SquareWave also features MP3 audio clips, performance advice, suggestions, photos, and related links - all free for the taking. Not a member yet? Go to:

and join today!

Here's what's new in the December SquareWave
------------------------------------------------------------

Featured Photo:
This month the home page takes on a holiday flavor, featuring an appropriately seasonal Minimoog Voyager photo (and for those of you who are bound to ask - no, Moog doesn't sell Christmas tree ornaments!)

---

Voyager Patches:
"13 by Greg" - Frequent contributor GregAE provides this 'baker's dozen' Voyager patches for the twelve days of Christmas! The patches include ARP emulations, basses, leads and... jaw harp? Look for this file in the Voyager Patches folder.

---

Voyager Reference Pages:
Moog Music gave Voyager owners an early Christmas present with the release of OS 3.1. Now it's our turn to do the same! We poured over the new OS to create the OS 3.1 Menu Reference pages, a organized reference in PDF format revealing all the items found in the Voyager's Panel, Edit and Master menus. Download, print and keep it handy for quickly locating all the cool new features of 3.1!

Check out the Voyager Controller Inputs Reference PDF for everything you need to know about the control jacks on the back panel. If you're interfacing your Voyager to any external gear, you need this reference!

We also excerpted and posted the Pitch Bend Zero Adjustment Procedure from Moog's Voyager OS 2.1 Update Instructions for the convenience of anyone who needs it. This is a Moog-approved user calibration procedure for adjusting the Pitch Wheel that won't void your warranty.

---

Monthly Mashup:
This month we raid the RME factory bank for ingredients for our audio Cuisinart. We combined 'Rob Progs Out' with 'Wonder Mini' to create a new lead patch we call 'Rob's Prog Wonder'. Get out your capes, proggers!

---

Links:
Stressed out by all the holiday hoo-haa? Nasenkuss offers us some stress-relief with three "Easy Listening" Voyager pieces. You'll find the link to these songs in the Song Links folder. Download 'em for some holiday chillout!

Another photo from the December photo shoot.

Happy Holidays to one and all! Here's hoping that Santa leaves some cool new gear under your tree!

Hey TeamSquare People!

Just found the SquareWave site - there's some good stuff there. Nice work on that OS 3.1 menu page! Now I have something I can refer to rather than poking through the Voyager menus.

To gregae: Good job on the 13 Voyager patches! Jaw harp? Well, why not? Can't seem to find a use for that Styx Mini patch, though (not a Styx fan). I did like your ARP patches, however.

Moog should hire you guys!

December Update:

We just added another Voyager Reference Page on SquareWave - a chart of all 128 presets in Banks 1-6 of the Voyager's expanded memory. The file is called 'Voyager OS 3.X Sound Chart.zip'

Thanks to Amos and Donato for posting the basic information that was used to create it.
