The Blue Jacks

Can you damage the blue jacks (such as Gate) in the back of the V'ger by putting CV from the CP251?

I would call Moog and ask for Amos. He knows it backwards and forwards. That's a good question so if you find out, please post it so we all know.

I called Amos. He says that the voltage from the CP251 will not harm the blue jack inputs. He advised not putting higher voltages from some other modular system. THe blue jacks are designed primarily for a switch but a square wave from the cp251 will also work. The blue jacks are triggered by 5 volts, so a continuous wave would not be as effective as the square wave.

A little more infor came from Amos. It takes less than 5 volts to trigger so continous CV waves will have an effect and have a characteristic of their own.

Maybe it's me, but I can't seem to get a good sound when triggering the envelopes via the CP251. I don't have the correct foot switch, so I can't experiment with that. I'm getting very distorted crackling sounds. Am I doing something wrong or is that what I should expect. I've used the attenuator to tone the CV down, but it doesn't seem to help. I'm using both saw and square waves to no avail.

Here's what I have done:
Turned off the Vol. Env. Gate. The Filter Env. Gate is on Input. I have selected gate input on in the menu. I can hear the filter envelope triggering but it's not regular on and off, even with the CP251 Square wave going in.

Any suggestions?

Never mind. I figured it out. Sometimes it helps to read the manual.
