update Voyager 1.5 - 2.5 ( Mac X10.4 ) w/editor ?

Post by Kjeks » Wed Jun 29, 2005 5:25 pm

my "old" Voyager ( sys.ver.1.5 - boot ver.1.2 ) doesn´t respond to my "new" (1.0.7) editor.
midi works with nuendo/RME, but nothing works between the editor - Voyager

Anybody know what to do ?

can I upgrade my Voyager with my editor ( Mac. X10.4 ) ???

You can upgrade the Voyager OS using SysEx Librarian if you want. The software is at http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/ I have not used the SoundTower Voyager editor so I'm not sure if you can upgrade the OS with it. Anyone who has it, can you?

Bew sure to read the manual that came with the early 2.x versions for initializing the Voyager presets to the new added features. Otherwise you will experience strange things like pod-mapping set to something you will not like.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Thanks guys.

I got my voyager up to 2.5 with the SysEx Librarian.
it "asked" for bank A only?
and the boot ver. is still 1.2
Normal??

but, still no contact with the SoundTower Editor
the midisettings looks logic to me, both on the moog and the editor, even after the update (I don´t know about midi merge and prg.change)

SysEx Librarian recieved presets, so why not the editor?
"requesting user preset bank" is the mesage I get,
and "stupidly" I don´t understand how to present one. I thaught making a new user bank would do it?

I´ve got a link to SoundTower that I will try now.

Have a good sounding summer guys!

Kjeks -

There are three updates files (labelled A, B and C). You need to download all three to the Voyager for a proper update. Check the ReadMe file for the details, as the download order is NOT A, B, C.

Try updating the Voyager again. The SoundTower Editor should work just fine under Tiger.

I did. and I got in all the files. A, C, B. ( still with SysExLib. ) so now the moog has
sys.ver.2.5 and boot ver. 2,5

BUT!, no contact with the editor AND I lost my PICHBEND, and some sounds are way out of tune ???

by the way, is it only me who misses a global pichbendrange?
( 1 note default felt like an insult to an old model-D player )

I have a feeling that there is a simple, stupid solution to why I don´t get any
contact with the editor, but ... any ideas?

Thanks for bothering.

You went from OS v1.5 straight to v2.5, right? That means you missed v2.1, which should be performed prior to the 2.5 update. The v2.1 update included instructions on initializing Voyager functions and a procedure for adjusting the PB.

You can get v2.1 here:

http://moogmusic.com/detail.php?product ... duct_id=40

Try that first and carefully follow the procedure, then go to 2.5.

but ... no contact with the editor ?

NOW ALL SEEMS FINE!
as I felt, there was a simple, stupid reason for not getting contact with the editor:
I didn´t think of trying the bundleoption since I have X10.4, but there it was.
I realy feel a little stupid, but thanks to all of you who bothered to care.
This is by the way a very useful forum.
