minitaur update problems
Re: minitaur update problems
Unfortunately, you didn't give a clue about your operation system and hardware. As explained in the other thread I was able to solve very similar problems on a W7 64bit machine by just uninstalling the new driver (and in the Windows world, of course, rebooting).

Re: minitaur update problems
A small number of people have reported this problem, where the computer is unable to use the Minitaur USB after installing the Moog USB MIDI Driver. It seems that there is some conflict which is preventing proper driver installation, but only for certain individuals. We are actively looking into it. Until we have a solution or work-around, just uninstall the Moog driver and continue using the default Windows driver.
Re: minitaur update problems

Re: minitaur update problems
hi
I just joined site to actually post that I had the same problem.
(installed new driver + could not use minitaur usb)
then I read this thread + tried looking in device manager
where i found minitaur with driver error symbol
I clicked on this and then update driver >> search for driver automatically
the computer found the driver + installed somehow automatically + then , great , the problem was fixed,
usb minitaur connection up and running.
hope this maybe helps.

Re: minitaur update problems
So this is a problem for me too, and I only updated because I was having some crazy tuning issues that I couldn't figure out. Thought it might fix those, didn't expect another problem.
Love the Minitaur, but come on MOOG this shouldn't happen with a driver even if you say its a small number of users. I did get multiple warnings that the driver is unsigned, I know Win7 can have problems because of that sometimes, but presumably if it was that simple everyone on Win7 would be having this issue. Reinstalling didn't fix that anyway.
By the way, the real solution is not to just have windows update the driver automatically - that just replaces the Moog USB driver with the generic windows version. While this may then work at least to get it connected, the moog driver was supposed to eliminate the problem where it could not communicate with your DAW and the editor at the same time over USB. I have had to do that also just so I can communicate with it at all, will have to plug the 1980's midi cable back into it I guess.
There really is nothing out there I can find on this, very frustrated. I will contact support but if anyone is aware of anything that will help please post it!
Thanks

Re: minitaur update problems
sorry guys!
We have now reproduced this driver-installation problem here at Moog, and we're looking into it.
It's frustrating because the same driver is working fine on my Win7 64bit OS... so we need to determine what factor is causing it not to load for some users. I will keep you posted.
Cheers,
Amos
