Minitaur - CV Pitch 0V doesn't go down to C0

Post by ttimotthhtty » Sun Oct 12, 2014 5:30 pm

Setting up a Qunexus controller with a Minitaur via CV gate and pitch. Using MIDI, I can get the Minitaur down to C0. With CV, G#0 is the lowest note, but everything higher works fine. Keys below G#0 just repeat G#0. Connecting the Minitaur Pitch input to my CP-251 shows the same low-end boundary of G#0 at 0V.

If I calibrate the CV ins on the Minitaur and transpose the notes, the Minitaur maintains linearity down to 0V, but its lowest note is still G#0.

Any ideas? Not finding an answer using the forum search function.

ANSWER: Tech support confirmed this as the default specification. Upon powering up, the Minitaur sets its root note as G#0 (MIDI 20). It can be transposed by sending a different midi note. Unfortunately, this must be done each time you power up the unit. Hopefully, a firmware update is in the works to save this setting.

Can you describe what you do to get it to go down to C0?

I run almost entirely via CV. But if I knew what midi to send to get those lower notes I'd be very excited about it. Enough that I wouldn't mind bringing some digital midi stuff to set it each time I turn it on.
