Hello
I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post.
Today my father brought me a Minitaur from USA that I had previously bought off amazon, this is my first Moog synth.
I live in Brazil by the way (no tech support in this country for Moog... market breach anyone?)
So today while testing the synth I noticed that when turning down the filter cutoff, from around 70 to 20 hz I hear a "scratch" sound, like if the knob was dirty (like the scratchy sound you hear while turning an old guitar volume knob up and down).
This sound only happens when actually tweaking the filter cutoff knob around those freqs.
Above those freqs when i tweak the cutoff knob the sound is always clean.
The scratchy sound only happens when I tweak the knob around those frequencies, when left alone on those frequencies, there's no scratchy sound, only when the knob is tweaked.
IS this normal?

Re: Minitaur Scratchy cutoff knob
A scratchy pot is to blame. I would e-mail Amos at Moogmusic.c0m to see what your options are. I wish you the best of luck! Any electronic repair person should be able to fix this issue.
