How much would you want for this thing? May I suggest using a Synthesizers.com type power connector? :D
Minitaur, CP-251, EHX #1 Echo, EHX Space Drums/Crash Pads, QSC GX-3, Pyramid stereo power amp, Miracle Pianos, Walking Stick ribbon controller, Synthutron.com, 1983 Hammond organ, dot com modular.

No idea on price.
Something reasonable for what it is.
I haven't seen any true Minimoog filter dupes out there for sale.
Most of the ladder filters available aren't discrete either.

I'll probably put it on Ebay simply because of how widely it would be advertised.
I also have a dual 4x1 Moog mixer w/mults that I'd probably offer at the same time.

One thing though- I am using the same metal C-frame cage that Moog used on their modules.
I have no idea if it will fit in a Synth.com system.
Anyone out there with real Moog modules in a Synth.com chassis?

From the Synthesizers.com FAQ: You can mount a Moog module in a Synthesizers.com studio cabinet but you would need special wiring to provide power and possibly other signals. Portable cabinets are not deep enough to house a Moog module.

I guess beauty's only skin deep.

I'll make it into a Moog module that can also accept synth.com's power.
Many later Moog modulars have the same power available with their 930 power supplies.

Thank you for the info.
I appreciate it very much. :)

Anytime I can provide you information, I will. You have provided myself and others with more information than one person should ever need to keep track of, and it's the least I can do.

It's all good, Kevin! I can wait. I look forward to clicking the "Buy It Now" button on E-Bay whenever it is available.

Kevin,
Would you like to email me the specifications/ roughly dimensions of the panel components/ PCB sizes ?
I would like to have my take on this!

Thanks Nikos, though I think I'm past this stage already.
If you'd like, you can write me at me email address and I'll send you an Adobe Illustrator or EPS file of the panel I did.
If nothing else, you can use it as a template and start from scratch.

The big consideration here is that I don't have the ability or money to do proper silkscreening.
Any graphics I do must be able to be cut out of vinyl.
My process uses a Roland vinyl cutter.
I take the cut result and bind it to the panel, remove the cutouts themselves with tweezers and the remainder is used as a painting template.
That means extremely fine lines or fonts can be a problem because only a very thin piece of vinyl exists on the panel.
Dots on i's and other small areas are difficult.
The secret is the airbrush.
One applies several very fine, quick drying coats in succession.
There's no bleeding paint to get under the vinyl.
After complete drying, the vinyl is all removed and only the painted graphics remain.

Btw, this vinyl cutter method works well for etching PCBs.
Do a design, cut it out, stick it on a board and etch.
Works great.

Moogy,simple & beautiful Kevin :D
I like the old school ergonomic font.
What about the brand name 'Dome Electronics'? :D

Thanks on the kind words. :)

I'm not using the metal C-frame cage (shown in the pic) because the mounting holes would go where the Minimoog Filter legend is.
So Dome Electronics is definitely out.
There's a limit to how fine I can do lettering using this homebrew method anyways.

Anyways, the board is now mounted and some jacks hooked up.
I'm going to make it Synth.com compatible, both electrically and connector-wise.

Fwiw, I also have several original Minimoog boards with glide and dual envs.
I was (casually) considering putting one of those behind a two space panel.
Then many of the things that make a Mini what it is (filter, glide, envs) could be added to a modular for that "Minimoog sound."
Just an idea.
For now, the filter is waiting for a couple of minor parts, then it'll go up on Ebay along with a dual 4 channel "Moogish" mixer removed from a previously serviced Moog modular.
Moogish in this case means original Moog boards and everything else DIY.
