There are synthesizers, mostly polyphonic, that I wouldn't want to power on with a cover over them, notably the Memorymoog which already runs hot and is very fragile temperature wise. The Elka Syntex, Oberheim OB series, Prophet 5, and any other machine with an external heat sink (those metallic protruding black or silver fins).
