Opus 3 minor issue

I just finished an Opus 3 fix-up and am having an odd issue. First, I should say I have yet to replace any capacitors or IC's, since it worked fine when I got it - it just had a hard life of bumps and bruises, a peeling decal, the dreaded tar, and a broken slider. The issue is a blip noise every 12 - 13 seconds in the string section only, if the string section is on it does it, if not, it doesn't. It happens regardless of any other change to the controls. Anyone experience this failure mode? Any ideas?
