I own a JP6 and JP8. The JP6 is a great synthesizer and has more modulation possibilities then it’s big sister but the JP8 sounds a lot warmer, fatter and organic. The JP6 has MIDI from start JP8 don’t (I installed Kenton MIDI). I installed Europa MIDI in my JP6 and this gives the JP6 the possibilit...

I have an OB-8 and I love it. It really got that powerful high quality American sound. It has MIDI (fairly basic but still), a lot of modulation possibilities and split/laryer so you can do a lot of cool stuff. On the other hand the OB-8 is quit expensive more expensive then the P-600. It is vintage...

Here are some fun and really inexpensive sizers that sounds pretty good. SEIL Opera-6/DK-600 (Warm sounding even with DCO, has SSM chips) Korg PolySix (Warm, organic sounding and based on SSM chips) Roland Juno-60 (Surprisingly warm sounding though it has DCO, great sounding filter) Akai AX60 (VCO b...

How many of us own a moog product(s)?

Hi!
How many of us actually own a moog product(s). List your product here:

I’ll start.
Minimoog Model D, serial number 1737.
Minimoog Voyager AE, serial number 139.

Here you can add the serial number of your Model D or Voyager.

Hey kid , what do you think of A6 ? Do you like the sound and filters ? I bought the A6 in 2003… I didn’t even try it first. It was analogue, had knobs and totally controllable by MIDI. I must say I was a bit disappointed at first. It is a very complex sizer with a lot of stuff going on in inside. ...

I don’t own a Memorymoog but my friend has a Memorymoog LAMM. He usually brings it to my studio when we play. He is always jealous of the sounds the Prophet~5 produce. He and I think the Memory sounds a bit nasal and not as warm sounding as the P5 or OB8. It is also quit slow when it comes to MIDI s...

AnalogVoyager: Just a question… Do you own a Voyager or any analogue sizer at all? I see an analogue sizer as an Italian super car. It is a pain sometimes, expensive to buy and repair but when working really really fun to drive. You can buy Japanese sports car that will take you fairly fast from A ...

I guess the MMV AE got autographed when Bob Moog had a promotion talk in a music store or something.

Or you can buy a system from here http://www.synthesizers.com/ Looks more Moogish. :)

I have never tried a Doepfer system but as friends that owned and sold them. The problem with the Doepfer systems are the mini-tele jacks... they breaks after awhile.

Voyager desktop wall papers& screen savers

The idea of this thread is to post cool pictures of the Voyager that can be used for desktop wall papers & screen savers. Here are some pix I’ve taken of my AE in 1024x768. http://hem.bredband.net/maggla3/Pictures/Minimoog_Voyager_AE_SN139_Filter_1024x768.jpg http://hem.bredband.net/maggla3/Pict...

Well I really want a synth that has evtremely fat bass with a warm tone. I guess maybe I should really be comparing the voyager to the SE- ATC-X. Don’t be fooled by the Model D:ish looks of the Studio Electronics ATC(X). It doesn’t sound at all like a Moog. The VCO’s and filter doesn’t sound like m...

If I was a newbi to analogue sizers then I’ll choose the Voyager since it is easier to control. The MS20 is a really fun sizer… And it can actually do some pretty nice basses. If you let the high-pass filter self-oscillate and control it using keyboard CV (from patch panel) you can get some really d...

There is a lot of Prophet~5 in the song. Prophet~5 is my favourite poly sizer next to the OB8. Both those sizers really sounds warm and alive. The string in the beginning/bridge and polyphonic melodies 30 seconds in are Prophet~5 as well as the outro melody in the end. The Prophet also plays the cho...

Well I have this raw demo of a song I’m working on right now. I need to write lyrics, record vocals and a guitar.

The bass is played by my Model D.
