A Mackie or FBT passive or active PA monitor will give you the best sound in lighter composite/plastic-type cabinets, esp. with a sub. For the best bass and power, get a wood or heavier material cabinet, such as a Yorkville EF500P. The new active PAs even with heavier cabinets aren't particularly he...

Doubtful the market for a modular would justify it, especially given the existing number of quality modulars already available: A Moog modular wouldn't be practical in terms of either market share or manufacturing costs, given the dozens of other companies that already make good equipment. Analogue ...

Go with the Voyager. Veteran Mini owners believe there are differences, which is true, but the differences are small in comparison with the huge similarities gained with a Voyager along with the advantages of something new with midi and a warranty. It sounds great, maybe a little different but quite...

Some say just the opposite-that the newer Moogs have a clarity in the highs that is superior, while not having quite the low end. Obviously the technology is different-less discrete components. Why does it have to sound the same? So what if it's a little different, the differences are not huge anywa...

Eric should start by taking his own advice, accept that he's extremely opinionated, biased, long-winded and occasionally rude before claiming same about others. Still not getting it man-I'm not the arbiter of what's important, you are in fact implying that yourself by suggesting that features a...

Where I'm coming from is a lot of people don't particularly want a lot of modulation routing options, loads of waveforms, etc. I'm quite 'traditional' in the way I use my vintage mono-synths ie bass, lead etc and the simplicity of the Prodigy lets me come up with something useable almost instantly....

Rogues, Prodigys and Sources have proven their worth musically-there are only some who care about added mod or routing flexibility-many musician just want something that sounds good, which they all do. They also get much of the Moog sound, and so are worth the higher prices to some who don't care or...

but none of them really sound like a Mini. Anyone who thinks they're getting the sound of a Mini from a Micro/Multi, Rogue, or Prodigy has either never heard a Mini, or is a little delusional. However at least the Micro/Multi give you some very interesting modulation capabilities (that are sorely l...
